

RAYFORD MAURICE BURROWS was born May 15, 1935 in Diboll, Texas to J.C. and Vera (Williams) Burrows. He passed away September 2, 2011 in Conroe, Texas at the age of 76. Ray graduated in 1953 from Texas City High School where he played football and basketball. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from University of Houston. He served in the United States Air Force. He married Marguerite Thacker Peckham on November 26, 1982 in Pearland, Texas. Ray worked for Allstate Insurance Company as a Insurance Agent for 35 years before retiring. He loved hunting, fishing and casino gambling. He served on various committees for the Windsor Hills Home Owners Association. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in The Woodlands, Texas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Marguerite “Markey” Burrows; children, Pam Burrows, Kim Carver and husband Harold, Randy Burrows, Cindy Long and her husband Mike, Mark Peckham and Chris Peckham and wife Lesley; grandchildren, Dylan Carver, Dynae Carver, Joan Ann Coody and husband Slade, Shannon Dack and husband Aaron, Braden Peckham; great granddaughter, Savanna Coody along with numerous friends that will miss him deeply.
The family will be present to receive friends beginning at 4:00 PM with a memorial service following at 5:00 PM, Saturday, September 10, 2011 in the Chapel of Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home.
The family would like the say a special thank you to Odyssey House Conroe and Drs. George Nasser and Shaszeb Naqvi for their dedicated caring for Ray.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the family request donations be made to American Heart Association or The Montgomery County Women’s Center in memory of Ray.
