Peacefully, on January 11, 2021, Rege, age 79, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away at his home in The Woodlands, Texas. He was the beloved husband of Henrietta (Drogowski) Segada, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Segada, brother of Mary Anne Basinski (Tim), loving father of Colleen Plowman (Todd) and grandfather of Caroline Plowman. Over his life, Rege served in the Navy and, for the majority of his career, worked in the water treatment industry with Calgon, NUS, Betz Laboratories and General Electric. Rege enjoyed golfing, the Steelers and a sip of good tequila. He was a man of little words with a big smile and an even bigger heart.
“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have succeeded.”-Ralph Waldo Emerson
A celebration of Rege’s life will be held in The Woodlands at a later date so all that desire may safely attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rege’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
A very heartfelt thank you to our Bridgeberry family that provided such wonderful care and support through our long, difficult journey. We were never without: groceries, honey-do’s, meals, medical equipment, prayers, prescriptions, transportation and/or visits. You were there for us, unconditionally, and we will never forget your gracious love.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.forestparkthewoodlands.com for the Segada family.
