

Richard “Ric” Treanor, 62, of The Woodlands, passed away September 29, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Leslie Ann Treanor. He is the son of Don and Barbara Treanor, to whom he was born on November 13, 1947, in Niskayuna, NY. Both parents survive him. He is also survived by his daughter Kimberly and son Mark Treanor; grandchildren Elizabeth and Taylor Treanor; sister Penny Bradley, husband James and their children John, Glenn and Barbara; brother Edward Treanor, wife Pam and his children Stephen, Don, Michael, and David; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Ric was employed with Southwest Airlines as a pilot for 18 years. Prior to a flying career in the private sector, he was a Marine Corps fighter pilot and flew F-4 fighters, which he piloted on combat missions during the Vietnam War. His military career is resplendent with awards, some of which include the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Combat Medal; Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation (Gallantry Cross); Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation (Civil Action Medal); The Navy Unit Commendation; Meritorious Unit Commendation with 1 Star; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 2 Stars; and Overseas Ribbon with 2 Stars. He also served with the Defense Attache’s Office at the American Embassy in Ankara, Turkey during the late 1980’s. He ended his military career with the Marine Aviation Training Support Group in Corpus Christi, Texas. He retired with the rank of Major.
Visitation will be from four o’clock until eight o’clock on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. Funeral Services are set for 1:00PM, Monday October 4, 2010, in the Chapel at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery at 2:30PM.
