

Robert Royston Burton was born July 29th, 1961 to William Burton and Dorothy Mosser Burton in Lubbock, TX. He is survived by his beautiful wife Sonia and seven children: Elissa and David Tiprigan, Christopher, Whitney, Lauren, and Paige Burton; Korinna and Jon Kirchhoff, and Kristen Cuellar. He is also survived by his mother, two sisters and their families: Rebecca, Greg, Angela, and Rachel Hooten; Mary, Peter, Gabby, and Gina Lecca.
Robert and his wife resided in Spring, TX with their beloved dogs, Winky Wyatt Lee and Kimmy. Robert graduated from Texas Tech with a BS in Petroleum Engineering and a MS in Electrical Engineering. He had a very accomplished career in the petrochemical industry for thirty years. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his repertoire of funny movie quotes, his ability to talk to anyone, and his love of Lake Kemp and Ruidoso. His claims to fame are bringing Vans shoes to Texas in the 1970s and his extensive knowledge of bikes, cars, and lawnmowers.
He loved his family very much and found strength in his Catholic faith and serving others. The family has solace in the hope that he is now in heaven with his father watching over us. There will be a rosary on Saturday, March 1st, at 9:30am in the chapel at St. Edwards Catholic Church at 2601 Spring Stuebner Road, Spring, Texas 77389. The memorial Mass will be held following the rosary at 10:30am in the main church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Beacon at 1117 Texas Avenue, Houston, TX 77002.
