Robert Whittan Culp Jr. was born on May 12, 1949 in Johnstown PA to Robert and Earlene Culp.
Robert's family moved to Cleveland, Ohio where they resided there for the entirety of his childhood. Throughout the years, he excelled at baseball and football and made lifelong friendships. Being an only child, his parents spoiled him constantly.
Bob attended college at Kent State, Ohio. During this time he and some of his close friends decided to enlist in the Navy to avoid the draft. After getting out of the service, Bob was blessed to welcome his son Bobby. He loved coaching soccer, basketball and baseball and was highly competitive. He was always present in his son's life, through their mutual love of sports.
When Bob was promoted and moved to CA, he finally "thought he had made it" in his career. He always had a dream to live in CA. There he met and later married Judy, his wife of 35 years.
They welcomed his daughter Madison in 1998.
They lived in San Ramon CA for 12 years where they made lifelong friendships and thrived.
They then relocated to Granite Bay CA to raise Madison. Between working, making more friends and being involved in Madison's life through sports-swimming and soccer, Bob felt he was living his best life.
For the majority of Bob's career, he was a sales manager in the optical industry. While he was extremely successful managing people, being a dad to Bobby and Madison was his greatest joy and accomplishment.
His faith was always his foundation. Wherever he lived, finding the right church to worship was very important. His goal in life was to teach his faith to his grandkids.
Moving to the CA desert to retire was his later in life dream. There he and Judy spent years making lifelong friendships, golfing, exploring fine dining and of course having the best tan.
During the years in the desert, Bob and Judy visited the grandkids often in TX. They made the decision to move there to be closer to them about Bob will be remembered as:
A dedicated Father A loving husband
A fun "Pops"
The life of the party
Having the best laugh
Fun loving
Fiercely loyal to family and friends
Having the best suntan and hair. (AKA Rod Stewart)
Bob left this earth entirely too soon. While we know he is with his heavenly father, he will be forever missed by those who knew him and loved him.
