Robert Lona, 73, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away on May 1, 2025. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on July 24, 1951. Robert graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and received a B.S. from Lamar University. He also received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston. He was married to Arleen Cook Viera on November 17, 1979. Robert had a career with Houston Lighting and Power and Texas New Mexico Power. He had a passion for gardening, the Houston Astros, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Demetrio and Virginia Lona, brother Roy Lona, sisters Carmen Martinez and Rose Ramirez, and grandson Hayden Michelson.
He is survived by his wife Arleen Cook Viera and two daughters, Judith Michelson (Philip) and Courtney Farley (Jordan), brother Paul Lona, and sisters Mary Lona, Annie Soto, Louise Lona. He is also survived by grandchildren Caleb Michelson, Kyle Michelson, Evan Michelson, Austin Farley, Kellen Farley, and George Farley.
A funeral service will be held for Robert on Saturday May 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384. A catered reception will immediately follow at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
