Just come across this and note Roger has been gone 9 years. In his way he was impressive individual and exuded a quiet and well considered intent. His passing reminds one of the transitory and ephemeral nature of life. I worked with Roger in Australia in 1982/3.

I had feared the worst might be unfolding, but as most people naturally do, harbored optimism. I just found out the other day by a chance meeting with a mutual friend, that you have indeed lost Roger. Failing words that can adequately express my condolences, all I can say is that I'm deeply sorry for your loss.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. Roger was a real gentleman and I shared many memorable moments with him over the years.

Mel - We've lost a true gentleman. Always chipper, never a bad word to say about anyone, always looking on the bright side of life - always happy. The world would benefit from a few more Rogers - but there was only one, and now he's no longer with us. We can however choose to learn from Roger's perpetually sunny outlook though and that will help make everything brighter. Jon and Sue Ruszka.

Dear Melanie,
I am so sorry for your loss.  I will always value and remember Roger's friendship.  I wil miss him very much.  I am sorry that I will be unable to attend Roger's service, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.

Roger have for me been a friend and mentor throughout my  22 years in Baker Hughes. 
He  was a true gentleman of the old school and one to turn to get knowledge and guidance from.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Roger however I've had the privilege of working with his son Daniel.  The son is the measure of the man so I can imagine what a fine person Roger was.  I know that Daniel's “old man” meant a great deal to him and his passing will be keenly felt.  Judy, Ada and I will be keeping Daniel and Melanie in our thoughts and our door will always be open.
