

Sharon was born in Stamford, Texas on July 10, 1947 to Billy Earl and Margaret Jane Darden. She graduated from Mabank High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from East Texas State University.
Sharon touched the lives of so many people. Sharon dedicated her career to teaching and inspiring her students to work hard to meet their goals. More recently, she was committed to her new calling to be a chaplain at Memorial Hermann, The Woodlands. Sharon had been an active member of The Woodlands First Baptist Church for more than 30 years. She was member and past-president of Delta Kappa Gamma and had numerous community involvements. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, entertaining, golfing, running, and traveling. She lived her life to the fullest and made the most of every moment.
She is survived by her husband, Brad; children, Christi and Heath Smith, Pamela and B.J Voigt, Stephanie and Justin Knuppel, Ashlie and Steve Driver, and Allison and Micheal Nordeen; siblings Danny and Nancy Darden of Weatherford and Charlotte and Sanford Reed of San Antonio; thirteen grandchildren, Cassidi, Brandon, Cassidy, Kirby, Caitlyn, Maddie, Cameron, Luke, Colton, Tucker, Travis, Holden and Elise; many very special cousins, nieces and nephews; and two precious yorkie dogs, Toby and Bogie.
The family would like to honor and thank Monica Buschmann for her extraordinary gift to our mother. We love you and will be forever grateful for your selflessness.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park the Woodlands Funeral Home on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm at The Woodlands First Baptist Church, 11801 Grogans Mill Road, The Woodlands, Texas 77380.
