Sherry Darby

Sherry Lorraine Darby, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on January 30, 2024, in Spring, Texas at the age of 79, after a courageous battle with Alzheimers. She often commented the last few months, “I don’t have a home anymore.” She is now in her forever home, in the presence of family and friends who preceded her in death and in the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Sherry was born on May 28, 1944, in Washington D.C. to Robert Otis and Bernadyne Rice Wynn. She graduated from Bellaire High School and furthered her education at Texas Tech University and the University of Houston. She was married to Glenn Lee Darby on August 7, 1965. They had one daughter, Kelly. Sherry was a homemaker and enjoyed dogs, riding horses, cooking, quilting with her friends, KHCB radio and reading her Bible. She was a leader in Bible Study Fellowship International for over 40 years. She shared her faith in and love for Jesus with everyone who knew her and many whom she only met briefly. Sherry devoted much of her life to deepening her personal relationship with Jesus and helping others do the same. She was a faithful prayer warrior with countless written notes of prayers for family, friends, and acquaintances.

Sherry is survived by her husband of 58 years, Glenn; daughter, Kelly Wood and husband Dean; three grandchildren, Karis Wood, Karsten Wood and fiance Ana, and Darby Wood; and brother, David Wynn and wife Carol.

The family wishes to express deep appreciation for the countless prayers, visits, meals, cards, and support shared with us during her illness.
