He was born in Sinton, TX on August 24, 1952. Steve graduated from The University of Texas - Austin and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Steve also earned an MBA from Sam Houston State University.
He and Kathy celebrated 33 years of marriage on June 18th.
Steve had a career in the Midstream Oil & Gas industry for Amoco, Mitchell Energy, Coastal, El Paso, and Targa Resources. He had a passion for fishing, UT sports, casino activities and exercise. Steve and Kathy are members of The Woodlands First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Grace Hopson.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Cindy Sackett and son-in-law, Clayton; his brother, Bill Hopson and wife, Janet, and brother, Pat Hopson and wife, Vicki.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 10:00 AM, August 3, 2016, at Forest Park the Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery located at 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384. Bryan Butler, Discipleship Pastor at The Woodlands First Baptist officiating.
