

Thomas, affectionately known to many as the “Baker,” was born in New Orleans, LA on November 2, 1956. Thomas graduated from Holy Cross High School Class of 1974 where he was a multi-talented athlete playing both offense and defense for the Holy Cross Tigers football team and throwing shot-put for Track & Field. Upon graduation, Thomas managed his family’s landmark business, the Clematis Bar and Restaurant, which was founded by his grandparents Thomas and Clara Toranto four decades earlier. He then moved to Texas where he furthered his career in the restaurant business and met his wife Sarah.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sarah Vassigh Toranto, their son Thomas Jacob Toranto IV, his daughters Sarah & Tessa Toranto, his mother Melanie Holton Toranto, his sisters Shelly Toranto Ellis (Mark Ellis), Shawn Toranto, Sharon Toranto, and his beloved nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by them all, as well as his large extended family and the dear friends he has made over the years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Jacob Toranto Jr. and his sister, Sheryl Elizabeth Toranto.
His Memorial Service will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 12th at 11 am.
