He graduated from Maysville High School and received his high school diploma.
Tony owned Childers Contracting, working on railroads all over the United States. He always worked for himself no matter what he did. He retired from the railroad business after 35 years. To keep himself busy he ran several different types of businesses ranging from rental properties, hay bailing and other various little things.
He loved spending time with his mom, daughters and grandsons on holidays and just hanging out. He loved working on the railroad, baling hay and having fun riding his Harley bikes with his buddies.
Tony is survived by his mother Norma Childers, daughters Dottie Gibson and her spouse Lewis Gibson, Dixie Hale, grandsons Austin Childers, Taylor Gibson, Dalton Gibson, children to Dotti and Lewis Gibson. Christian Hale, Gabriel Hale children to Dixie Hale, sister Mona Johnston and her children Kelly Johnston, Danae Robertson, and Denise Hoyt. Maddux, Gabriel, Dorian, and Christopher Jr., children of Danae Robertson. Cedric and Kimber children of Denise Hoyt.
He was proceeded in death by his son Dallas Childers, father M.D. Childers, and nephew David Johnston.
A visitation for Tony will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
A funeral service will occur Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384 followed by a reception after service from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, in the R. L. Wood Reception Hall.
