Tuve la oportunidad de conocerlo desde mis inicios en la compañía, y desde entonces siempre se mostró como una persona estudiosa, dedicada y profundamente comprometida con su trabajo dejando una huella en todos los que convivimos con él (1993 - elaborando presentaciones en el primer programa Entry Level - en la entonces  Mobil Oil de México).

Vicente was my mentor for a year—a truly great leader who inspired me deeply. His guidance and example will stay with me, and we will miss him tremendously.
To his family, please accept my sincere condolences. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

I will always remember Vicente for the passion and generosity he brought to everything he did. 

One of my favorite memories is when Vicente and Begona hosted our team and our significant others at their home, cooking an incredible paella and a full spread of food. It wasn’t just a meal — it was Vicente’s way of bringing people together, sharing joy, and making everyone feel part of something special.

As a leader, Vicente truly believed in people. He mentored, empowered, and helped others grow, and his impact on the business and on our lives will last far beyond his time with us. I feel grateful to have worked with him and to have known him. 

He will be deeply missed.

De todo corazón lamento mucho la partida de Vicente. Mi mentor y maestro, de quien aprendí tanto. El equipo de Mexico, siempre estará agradecido por todo el apoyo y sus enseñanzas. Un abrazo.

Vicente was such a special person. He was the best boss I have ever had.  He was so dynamic, he loved working in Lubes and had all sorts of stories. His laptop is a treasure trove of prior strategies and initiatives and he would pull them out all the time! I often avoided Vicente after 4:30 pm because if he caught you then you were talking strategy for the next 2 hours. He just loved figuring thing out. I loved his passion. When we were in China, we talked him into going to a club right next to the Marriot in Shanghai. Of course, he went because he was all about experiences and he was doing it for his team. I will miss you Vicente.

Lamento la noticia, Vicente y yo estudiamos juntos en el CUM en CDMX, además tuve la oportunidad de convivir en el Club Asturiano y, aunque no jugamos en el mismo equipo de futbol, también ahí nos encontramos, el recuerdo que tengo de él es el de un joven muy estudioso, apasionado a la hora de los partidos de futbol y siempre con una sonrisa, estoy seguro que siempre fue un buen hombre.

I thank God for the privilege of having crossed paths with Vicente in this life, of having been true friends… companions… accomplices. He was also the shoulder to lean on during difficult moments, and with great warmth he always offered me his help and advice. He was my colleague, my boss, my mentor, and we were always united by an enormous alignment in the way we saw things, in how we solved challenges, found solutions, and worked hard to achieve results — all of this while always having fun and celebrating our achievements.

For anyone who had the privilege to meet Vicente, three things were almost certain:
1) You could not help but notice his knowledge in a broad variety of pursuits -- both in ExxonMobil's Lubricants business and in the personal realm
2) It was impossible not to be affected, maybe even infected, in some way by the conviction and passion of this genuinely good guy in those many pursuits, and
3) Vicente would land in the group of people whom you would never forget!

This is another CNY celebration in 2025 @Houston, the last CNY we spent together.

Still hard to believe this heartbroken news. Vicente was such a great mentor, a caring leader and friend for many of us coming from all over the world.  He was such a culture explorer that always celebrated Chinese New Year with our Asian colleagues and helped us to mingle together with local culture.  Those great memories in Haodilao hotpot or Fung's kitchen, and many other home cooking dinners would never go away and stay with us for many more CNYs until we meet again. Vicente, you would be missed by all of us. R.I.P

I had the privilege of working with Vicente right at the start of my career at EM. He was a kind, and gentle soul, and he always had time to stop and speak with me. He was very recognizable in his red Porsche, and we talked about sports cars a lot! Rest in peace Vicente, you will be dearly missed.

My heart was broken when I heard about Vicente. I worked for him on two separate occasions, and he was always so jovial, and always tried to make me laugh. He was a joy to be around, and taught me so much.  I will always remember him as one of my favorites.  I know that he will be very missed at Exxonmobil as he made such an impact on so many lives there, including me.  May you rest in peace Vicente until we meet again.
