

Victor Nieto passed away from cancer at his home in The Woodlands, TX at the age of 62. He was surrounded by his loving family. A fifth-generation Tejano, he was born in Crystal City, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents Otila and Luis Nieto.
As a child, Victor moved to Chicago where he was a graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep. He received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a JD degree from the University of Notre Dame.
Victor worked in the energy industry, primarily with Weatherford and Halliburton. As a tax counsel, he specialized in corporate tax, for many years with an international focus. He was active in leadership roles with the Tax Executives Institute.
Victor was known in his community for his years-long commitment to and leadership with Boy Scouts of America, through which he shared his passion for the outdoors. He loved to hike and camp across most of our National Parks as well as hike in the Swiss Alps.
Victor was a Renaissance Man. He excelled in the hard sciences (Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Thermodynamics) as well as the arts. He loved music and taught himself to play the guitar. He was a talented artist who loved to draw. He was passionate about stories, in movies and literature, and often shared his favorite films with his loved ones.
Above all, Victor was deeply committed to his family and his community. He was a devoted husband to Angelica, and a caring father to Victor, Carina, and Luis. Victor was overjoyed to meet his granddaughter Ramona last year and cherished his time with her. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Colleen, brother Luis, sister-in-law Sally and their three daughters, numerous Texas cousins and two aunts.
A visitation for Victor will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384. A rosary/vigil will occur Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Friday, March 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 26777 Glen Loch Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77381. A burial will occur Friday, March 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 18000 I-45, The Woodlands, TX 77384, 18000 I-45, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
Serving as pallbearers are Adrian Jaramillo , Hugo Jaramillo , Julian Jaramillo, Laura Nieto, Ana Nieto and Margaret Nieto .
