Vincent Thomas Reinert, of Spring Texas, went to be with our Lord in Heaven on July 27, 2025 at the age of 63. Tom, one of eight children, was born on April 23, 1962 to Charles J. Reinert Sr. and Sue Alvey Reinert in Louisville, Kentucky. He was baptized into the Catholic faith on May 13, 1962 at St. Aloysius Church in Pewee Valley, Kentucky. Tom graduated from Oldham County High School in 1980 where he was class president and excelled in academics and sports. He was on the baseball and wrestling team. Tom graduated from the University of Kentucky with a MS degree in civil engineering on December 20, 1985. He moved to Houston, Texas in February of 1986 to work for Exxon, where he met his beloved wife, Andrea Larriviere. They were married on February 20, 1988 at St. Hyacinth Church in Deer Park, Texas and had two children, Nicholas Reinert and Emily Reinert. On February 28, 2022, Tom retired from ExxonMobil.
Tom was a kind and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was quick with a joke and generous to his friends, of which there were many. He enjoyed spending time with extended family on camping trips to the Texas Hill Country, as well as on beach vacations to Gulf Shores. Tom also enjoyed visiting his brother Pat and experiencing the beauty of Park City. He had many hobbies, including exercising, trying out new recipes, and beekeeping. Many family members and friends enjoyed Tom’s Honey.
Tom was an avid cyclist who rode 50 plus miles several times per week. He particularly enjoyed riding with his high school friends, the Rum Riders, who affectionately nicknamed him ‘Rhino’. They made memorable bicycle trips on the Natchez Trace in 2012 and a European trip (England, France and The Netherlands) in 2015.
Tom kept a daily journal and in 2024 compiled ‘A Daily Thought’, which he gifted to his children at Christmas. It is very comforting to his family having this treasure from Tom for remembrance and reflection. This is a sample of his musings:
Andrea’s favorite: February - The sun came up, the birds were chirping, I spoke to my best friend, I felt the warmth of my bride. Life is beautiful!
Nick’s favorite: March - Little blessings are everywhere. God is present in everything. There are so many things that we take for granted and don’t notice. Stop and smell the flowers, watch the bees go from flower to flower, feel the sun on your face, step on the ground barefooted. Consciously enjoy all these miracles as much as you can!
Emmy’s favorite: August - Life is like a book; you turn a page every day. The only thing is, there are no words on the page. You are the author, you write the words, you decide the story. What will your story be?
Tom is survived by his wife, Andrea Reinert; his children, Nicholas Reinert and Emily Reinert; his mother, Sue Reinert; siblings, Cindy Hall (Ron), Greg Reinert (Sandi), Pat Reinert (Leslie), Diana Wood (Steve), and Nancy Porter (Dave) and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles J Reinert, Sr. and brothers Charles Jay Reinert, Jr. and Robert Christopher Reinert.
