Mr. Parson’s. We didn’t know each other, but from everything I’ve seen it looks like you were a wonderful man that was beloved by many.  Sons that remained by your side, beautiful grandchildren that adored you, and a wife that you always held dear. The reason I know of you, is because your wonderful family is now on YouTube. It breaks my heart to see your wife taken advantage of,  and your grandchildren deliberately blocked out of her life. I hope your legacy can be saved before it too late. Rest in peace, sir.

Those of us from Morton's 1961 Senior class at Shelbyville, TN  
Central High School are deeply saddened by the news of his passing.  At the time Morton graduated, Shelbyville was a small county, approximately 25,000,  so several of us started grammar school with Morton and graduated from CHS with him, all fellow friends and students for 12 years.  We went different ways, but thanks to the members who never left the town, we could all have a reunion every 5 years or so. The last time I saw Morton was at one of those reunions.  Morton was a great guy, happy, intelligent, engaging, liked by everyone, and he knew and liked us all in return. He was genuine; possessing that quality that made him everyone's friend.  He had character.  I'm saddened to lose Morton to the season of life that demands "autumn leaves must fall",  but we live on in the memories of those who knew us and the influence we had upon our decendants who knew and loved us.  We who knew and loved him in Shelbyville have been swapping stories around today by email, text, and phone, and we are all sad to have an empty spot in our lives, but we have been encouraged by the fond memories of our times together with him.  His family is in our thoughts and we know his values live on in your lives.   
  There is one question that we cannot answer: 
  "We can't place the location of that 3rd grade picture. Shelbyville Madison Street School was very small, and we still have several of us who remember parts of the third grade, but in this picture,  Morton is the only person in the picture we recognize.  Was he in some other school that year?"   Please reply to:

So sorry to hear of Mort's passing. 

Mort hired me as an electrical trainee in Cushing in 1978. Cushing was a wonderful place to start my career, I was so fortunate to get to work for Mort. I owe him a great debt of gratitude. 

He taught me to "Handle it". A motto I have followed ever since.

He will be greatly missed
