William F. Jennings

William Franklin (Bill) Jennings, 85 of Spring, Tx passed peacefully in his home on September 13, 2026. Bill was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on October 20,1940. He graduated from St Aloysius high school and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi. Upon graduating from Ole Miss, he began what became a 35 year career in the oil industry as a supply store manager for National Supply in Leeville, Louisiana. While working in Leeville, he met the love of his life Elaine Cheramie on a weekend trip to Grande Isle, Louisiana (aka the Cajun Bahamas).

After a 20 year career with National Supply, Bill spent a few years with R.C. Chapman and eventually was hired by Noble Drilling. Bill continued to flourish at Noble ascending in the executive ranks and serving as Noble’s Vice President of Western Hemisphere Operations. Prior to his retirement from Noble in 1999, Bill received the honor of having a drilling rig named after him.

A larger-than-life character with a great sense of humor, Bill travelled the world through work and with his wife of 60 years Elaine. There were very few places in the world that he had not

been to, thus many throughout the world received the “Bill Jennings” experience.

He was a strong Christian and Family man with a big heart and was always there for those who needed him. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where he led the homebound communion team bringing communion to the sick.

Bill also loved the outdoors, sports, and especially Ole Miss football. It was well known by his family that nothing was to interfere with game time. Thus, whatever he was busy doing was

required to be finished by game time. When not watching football, he loved spending time with his family and friends hunting and fishing. Whether it was deer, dove, quail, ducks, geese or speckled trout and redfish, Bill loved chasing them all.

Bill was loved and respected by all who knew him, and there will never be another like him.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Land Jennings and Marie Johnson. He is survived by his wife Elaine Cheramie Jennings and his sons William Blair Jennings (Ginger), Kevin Michael Jennings and his grandchildren William Edward Jennings, Owen Michael Jennings, and Wyatt Land Jennings, his sisters Teresa Marie Davis, Hilda Mae Moeller, and Kathy Margaret Pikul.

The family deeply appreciates the love and care provided by Family Tree Private Care during the final days of Bill’s life.

His faith was unshakable, his love was certain, and his sayings were unforgettable.

We are fortunate to have had him in our lives and thank God for the years we had with him.
