Wilma Amparo Munoz-Scacciotti passed away at her home in The Woodlands, Texas on Sunday, May 19th, 2019 following a short illness. Wilma was born in Cali, Colombia on the March 17th, 1950 to her parents Luis Alfonso Munoz Camayo and Olga Mary Lozano Saa. She is survived by her daughters Tania Andrea Espitia (Dr. Leonardo Espitia) and Jessica Marie Scaccciotti, grand daughters Sara and Sofia Espitia and siblings Luis Alfonso, Florencia, Gisela and Olga Lucia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luis Alfonso and Olga Mary.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Wilma moved to the United States to further her studies at La Guardia University in Queens New York . During a visit to Massachusetts, she met Vincent Scacciotti, and on May 19th, 1972 they were married. They made their home in Acton, Massachusetts, where their two daughters were born.
Wilma spent her time as a teacher at Peggy Wilson Elementary, and concluded her career in her natal city of Cali as a bilingual teacher at Colegio Bolivar. Even after retirement Wilma continued to share her love of learning with her granddaughters.
Wilma loved music, dancing, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted sister, mother and grandmother. She will be missed dearly by all who were fortunate to have known her.
