Francis E. Dowling

Born to Eternal Life on Sunday, October 3, 2010. Age 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Elisabeth Bogue Dowling. Beloved father of Michael ( Maggie), Timothy (Nancy), Dennis (Lisa), Patricia (Terry) Leonardelli, Kevin (Paula), Maureen (Ted) Balistreri, and Daniel Dowling. Further survived by16 wonderful grandchildren and 9 nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Margaret Dowling and life-long friend of Rev. Daniel J. Sherman, M.M. Francis was preceded in death by his first wife, Helene and infant son, as well as his sister, Helen, and brothers Edward, Gerald, and John.

Visitation will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 7, at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2700 W. Mequon Road. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Mequon.

Frank was a 55+ year member of St. Cecilia- Lumen Christi Parish, a 38 year member of the Schoenstatt Family Movement, and a 65+ year member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Flight Engineer and Captain in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. He graduated from Marquette University with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1942 and was a member of Sigma Phi Delta Fraternity. He worked as an engineer for the Ladish Company starting in the early 1940s until his retirement in 1990.
