Rita M. Greene

Rita M.Greene (nee McElin), of Mequon died at home on July 22, 2011. She was 88 and the widow of George P. Greene. She was a longtime resident of Hinsdale, IL and Bradenton, FL. Survivors include daughters Kathleen (Charles ) Vogel, of Mequon, WI and Maririta (Mark) Devlin, of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren Katherine Vogel (Andrew) Edwards of Chicago, IL and Matthew (Brenna) Vogel, of Wauwatosa, WI; and Erin Devlin and Brian Devlin of Pittsburgh, PA; and great-grandaughters Elizabeth Trexler Edwards and Mary Therese Vogel. She was preceded in death by her parents James E. and Katherine McElin; and her sister Elaine Duisberg. A graduate of Rosary College, Rita taught both high school as well as grade school. Mass of Christian Burial and interment were held for Rita on July 30 in Pittsburgh, PA. The family thanks Dr. James Volberding, Warren Williams of VITAS Hospice Care, and her other caregivers for their compassionate service to Rita. Memorials in Rita’s name may be made to Marquette University High School, Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, or the Milwaukee Art Museum.
