Benjamin Hershal Haney Sr.

Benjamin Hershal Haney Sr., age 86, of Thomasville, North Carolina passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 21, 2022. Benjamin was born July 11, 1935 in Nantahala, NC to the late James Monroe Haney and Mary Ethel Mason Haney. Benjamin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He loved golfing and the mountains. He was most at peace when he was sitting outside enjoying nature. Retired from Leggett & Platt Inc of High Point after over 40 years of employment. Benjamin is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Lillie Mae Smith Haney; son, Timothy Craig Haney; brothers, Edward Haney and Ambrose Haney; sisters, Bonnie Hartman and Faye Anderson. Surviving Benjamin is his children, Pamela Church and husband Donnie, Benjamin Haney Jr and Donna, Duncan Haney, Michael Haney, James Haney and Melinda, Steve Haney, and Donald Haney and Tracy; grandchildren, Misty, Lee, Shane, Matt, Travis, Chad, Trey, Daniel, Jessica, Duncan Jr., Michelle, Natasha, Cameron, Nicole, Ashlyn, Addison and Chandler; as well as 31 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; brother, Thomas Earl Haney of Springfield, Massachusetts; as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Benjamin's name to Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Park Rd STE 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
