Benny Lawrence Miller, 78, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 28, 2020. A resident of this area all of his life, Lawrence was born on September 12, 1941 in Davidson County to the late John Clarence Miller and Ethel Miller Miller.

Lawrence was employed by Henredon Furniture in High Point, NC until his retirement. After retirement, Lawrence loved spending time with his family, attending extra-curricular activities of his grandchildren, gardening, and breakfast outings with friends. He was a member of Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church where he served as an usher for many years.

Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 50 years, Judy Anne Bowers Miller.

Surviving are his daughter Heather Houchins and husband Brad of Thomasville and their children, Adrianna and Hayden; and his daughter Tammy Miller of Florida.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lawrence’s name to Heath Church, 1375 Heath Church Road, Lexington, NC 27292.

A graveside services for Lawrence will take place at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church Cemetery of Thomasville. The service is open to the public, however, the family request that masks and social distancing be used to protect all in attendance.

I remember Lawrence as a fellow classmate in the Class of 1960 at Trinity High School. He was quiet and unassuming, courteous and reserved. I know you will miss him greatly. You will be remembered in my thoughts and prayers as you adjust to life without him.
