Bessie Marie Ingram Langford was born February 6, 1936, to Robert Edward and Bessie Zella Ingram in Thomasville, NC. She graduated from Church Street High School. At a young age she moved to New York for employment and stayed to get married and raise her family. She later returned to North Carolina and turned her love for working with children into her employment. She worked for Baptist Children’s home and St. Peter’s World Outreach Center’s child development centers.

Bessie became a member of St. Peter’s World Outreach Center and started working in the church as a greeter, joined the choir and the Mother’s Board. She was a faithful and devoted member.

Bessie was united in Holy Matrimony with Trevor Ambrose Langford on February 23, 1963 and was blessed with four children. Bessie was preceded in death by her four brothers Robert Edward Ingram Jr., John Gilbert Ingram, Gene Austin Ingram, and Robert Lee Ingram.

I'm so glad you posted the last picture today. I kept looking at the pictures posted and saw something so familiar in her face. Bessie took care of our children in the Child Development Center at Baptist Childrens Home some 20 years ago. She was very sweet and good to the children. She truly did have a love for them. So sorry for your loss, you all are in my prayers. Melanie Clodfelter Everhart
