Mrs. Bettie Coe Goodyear, 80, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Pine Ridge Health & Rehab following several years of declining health.
Bettie was born in Forsyth County, April 24, 1938, a daughter of the late Grady Lester Coe and Emma Jordan Coe. She worked with the Thomasville City School System for 30 years, retiring from the Thomasville Senior High School cafeteria. Bettie was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cross-stitch, going to yard sales and collecting knick-knacks. Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Goodyear and a granddaughter, Emily Goodyear.
Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Allen and husband Phil; two sons, Vincent “Spanky” Goodyear and wife Linda and Tony Goodyear and wife Tammy; a sister, Nancy Castevens; a brother, Jerry Coe and wife Sue; three grandchildren, Michael Goodyear, Erin Brewer and Adam Webb; four great-grandchildren, Mya Grace Goodyear, Cora Brewer, Emma Brewer and Tyler Webb.
Graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery by Pastor David Albertson. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
