Billy was born July 22, 1939, in Davidson County; the son of the late Jessie Cletus Elberson and Neva Lee Beck. He graduated from Fair Grove High School in 1957, where he played football and baseball. The year of 1959 is the year Billy married the love of his life, Helen Reece Elberson. They had three beautiful children, Jeff, Jill and Chad. He was very proud of his family. He loved the land he grew upon and was proud of the big pond he dug on the property.
November 13, 1960, was the day Billy met Jesus and never waivered. He attended Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church his whole life. Bill taught Sunday School for 56 years. He was the first Men's Softball Coach of Mt. Zion Church.
Billy was the owner of Bill Elberson Construction Company. He enjoyed working and building with his hands and the equipment he used. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time at the beach. Billy was quick-witted and loved to laugh. He brought fun into the room. He was loved by everyone he met. He was an avid Ford Truck Man and the owner of both Indian and Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Survivors left to cherish Billy's memories are his wife of 65 years, Helen Elberson, his three children; Jeff, Jill, and Chad (Mary); five grandchildren; Jesse, Alecia, Devin (Stephanie), Samuel (Emily) and Hannah; and one great-grandchild, Gideon.
A Celebration of Billy's Life will be held Monday, July 28, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations of Thomasville, officiated by Pastor Leon Thompson and Stephen Storey. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church of Thomasville, NC.
