Carlene Davis Gordon

Mrs. Carlene Davis Gordon, resident of Black Farm Road, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday Feb. 8, 2017.

A resident of this area all of her life, Mrs. Gordon was born on February 4, 1942 in Guilford County to the late Mamie Dickens Davis and Edward Frank Davis. For many years, she worked as a housekeeper and was a dedicated member of New Grace Baptist Church in Thomasville. Mrs. Gordon also enjoyed flowers and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

On December 11, 1964, she married Carl L Gordon, who preceded her in death on May 21, 2003.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Gordon Haynes.

Surviving are her children, Carl Jeffrey Gordon and wife Renee of Lexington, Kathy Sebastian Moore and husband James of Thomasville, and Amy Gordon Moore of Thomasville; sister, Jenny Link of the Oaks in Thomasville; grandchildren, Brandon Swaney, Cord Sebastian and wife Miranda, Katelyn Sebastian and Katie Williams, Felicia Whitley Biddix and husband Allen, Carly Haynes, Jayden Moore, and Jayla Moore; step grandchildren, Mikey Haynes, Erin Jones and husband Dillon, and Taylor Moore; and great grandchildren, Cole Sebastian, Hunner Biddix, and Landon Biddix. Also surviving are special family and friends, Susan Black Richardson, Stella Louise Gordon, Edith Davis Vaughan, and Cindy Miller.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday, Feb. 13 at New Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Lunsford and Rev. David Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Sunday, Feb 12 at Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street.
