Catherine Lafaitt Cooper Dorsey

Mrs. Catherine Cooper Dorsey, 88, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

Mrs. Dorsey was born on December 21, 1926 in Georgia to the late Jewitt and Cynthia Bray Cooper. She had been a resident of the Thomasville area until 2003 before moving to Statesville. She was an active member of Southside Baptist Church and a textile worker for Parkdale Mills for 35 years. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Manson David Dorsey.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Dianne Andrews and her husband Alan of Statesville; two granddaughters, Karen Perrow and her husband Charlie and Meredith Andrews; and four great grandsons, Austin and Matthew Rash, Hunter Perrow, and Alex Boggs.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Reverend Jason Poe officiating.

The family would look to extend a special thanks to the staff of Maple Leaf nursing facility, Davis Hospital ICU, and the Gordon Hospice House for their kind and gentle care of Mrs. Dorsey.
