Doc was born in Davidson County, May 10, 1944, a son of the late Ivory Lee Proctor and Della Kennedy Proctor. He served with the Thomasville Fire Department from January 10, 1970 until November 30, 1996, retiring with the rank of Captain. Doc work as a mechanic and at various other jobs as well. He enjoyed saltwater fishing at Topsail Beach and trips to Las Vegas. Doc was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Judy Black Proctor; a son, Timothy “Tim” Dale Proctor and his wife Melinda Ann Proctor; a special cousin, Margie Glasscoe; and his four legged friends, Star, Coco and Sugar.
At Doc’s request, all services will be private. Memorials may be made to Southgate Baptist Church.
