

Dennis was born on January 22, 1953 in Haywood County to the late John and Edna Mills Sharp. He was a graduate of East Davidson High School and was of the Baptist faith. For over 34 years, Dennis had worked as a truck driver, most recently for Southern Resin. He especially enjoyed his tractor, working on cars, and traveling to the mountains.
Surviving is his wife, Sherry Grimes Sharp of the home; daughter, Crystal D Mathis and husband Donald of Lexington; sisters, Ellen Grotte of Charlottesville Courthouse, VA, Shirley Sharp of Pennsville, NJ, and Dorothy Dills of Lawrenceville, GA; and sister-in-law, Gayle Nobles and husband Chris of Thomasville.
A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held at 11 am Friday, Sept. 9 in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, with Pastor Jason Poe and Pastor Mark Mullins officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Thursday, Sept. 8 at Thomasville Funeral Home.
