Elizabeth Coman Thornbrough, age 85, died October 21, 2023. She was the daughter of (F.E.) Everette Coman and Vonnie Fouts Coman born March 8, 1938 in Davidson County. Graduated from Fair Grove High School and attended UNC-G, received certificates from DCCC and GTCC. She enjoyed several positions and travels. Liz was known for a big heart, silent giver, love for the outside world, little children, animals, and biographies. She enjoyed preserving the Coman farm. A baptized Christian and loved her God who carried her many times. Fortitude describes her best.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Bufort and Russell Coman, her sisters Velva Lee, Margaret Kinney, and Frances (Fran) Coker, Mr. Tart and Mr. Thornbrough.
There is an open gate at the end of the road each must go alone. Liz has found rest and happiness. Left to cherish her memory are her son Travis Tart and his wife Lori Tart, nieces Celeste Coker Payne, Gina Spencer, Debbie Barnette, Beverly Clinard, nephews Thomas Lee and James Lee of Mt. Ulla, Mark Coman, and many great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 27, 2023, at Sechrest-Davis Funerals & Cremations of Thomasville. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
She requested that any memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
