Evelyn Blackburn Daviss

Mrs. Daviss was a dedicated registered nurse who deeply cared for her patients, and that love and compassion were returned by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Throughout her 40-year nursing career, she served in a variety of roles, including working in the operating room, as an office nurse, and as an occupational health nurse. She later found a special calling with Hospice of the Piedmont, where she continued to provide comfort and compassionate care to others. She retired after four decades of devoted service as a nurse.

Outside of her career, Mrs. Daviss enjoyed gardening, painting, crafting, and traveling throughout the United States. She also cherished her faith and loved her church, which was an important part of her life.

Mrs. Daviss will be remembered for her caring heart, dedication to others, and the love she shared with her patients, family, friends, and community.

She is survived by her son, Randal Neal Daviss.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Prentiss Daviss, and her son Edward Prentiss Daviss, Jr.

Visitation will be held at Unity UMC, 608 National Highway, Thomasville, NC, on August 15, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm.
