George Avery "Bud" Noah Jr.

A resident of this area all of his life, Bud was born on March 29, 1937 in Davidson County, a son of the late George and Ollie Ruth Reece Noah. He was a longtime member of Hughes Grove Baptist Church and had worked in furniture for many years. Bud especially loved preaching the gospel, singing, animals, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Noah.

Surviving are his wife, Kay Nelson-Noah; sister, Mary Varner of Thomasville; brother, Grant Noah of Thomasville; step-daughters, Lynn Nelson and Tronda Nelson; step-grandchildren, Brittany Rickert (Dillon), Ronald Doty, Elizabeth Johnson, Bentley Pagura, and Anastasia Pagura; nieces, Donna Kennedy, Sheila Smith, Angela Trull, Cindy Noah, and Wendy Finley; nephews, Brian Noah, Tony Long and Wayne Long; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Hughes Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Joseph Long officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Thomasville Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, Mary Varner.
