Hazel was the seventh of seven children. She grew up in High Point and later in Michigan and spent many years in Vera Beach, Florida. Hazel worked as an upholsterer in the furniture industry. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Her church family was her family.
Hazel is survived by a niece, Sondra Magin; a nephew, John Day; and numerous friends. In addition to her parents and her siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Ott.
A funeral service for Hazel will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Trinity Baptist Church, 6499 NC-62, Trinity, NC. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park.
