Jackie Lynn Watts, 67, a native of Thomasville, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at Hinkle Hospice House following a brief battle with cancer.
Jackie was born in Thomasville, January 20, 1953, a daughter of the late Johnnie and Mazelle Coleman Jones. She was a seamstress, working in the hosiery and furniture industries. Jackie found great joy in sewing, working outside, spending time with her family and caring for animals. She was a consummate caregiver, always willing to help those in need. Jackie and her husband of 37 years, Randy, led a marriage filled with love and laughter, ups and downs, and tolerance and tenacity. It was a collaborative and caring relationship. They poured their very beings into building a life together. She was a mother figure to many. She was proud of her family and the many accomplishments of her children. Jackie’s grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of Jackie’s kind spirit, passion for family, love of nature, and zest for life will live on through them.
Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randy Allen Watts and a sister, Betty Jo Livingston.
Surviving are her fiancée, Clint Bivens; three children, Sherry Powell and her husband Travis, Rickie Jarrett, Jr. and his wife Julie, Bobby Watts and his wife Mitzi; two sisters, Margaret Kepley and Arlene Hicks and her husband Tony; five grandchildren, Jeremiah Boone Younts and his wife Breanna, Sarah Puih and her husband Thun, Luke Younts and his wife Ashleigh, Thomas Logan Younts and Samuel Watts; six great-grandchildren, Caleb Puih, Mae-Lynn Puih, Julianna Younts, Nathun Puih, Noah Younts and Hanna-Grace Younts; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Jackie's life will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 7 p.m. at the Thomasville Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ken Norman officiating. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County.
