James David Everhart

David was born March 2, 1949 in Davidson County to the late James William and Helen Hall Everhart.

He worked for the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office for thirty years, where he retired as a Major in 2001. Most of all, David enjoyed camping and spending time at the beach. He always enjoyed and cherished his time with his family and friends.

David was a beloved husband to his wife, Mary Lee Johnston Everhart. He was a loving father to his children, Tracy Leonard and her husband Mark, Kim Floyd and her husband Travis, and Natasha McKenzie and her husband Brandon. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Dylan Leonard, Macy Leonard, Cameron Stanley, and Chloe Everhart and beloved dog Copper; sisters, Linda Davidson and Sandra Snyder and her husband Jimmy; and a special sister-in-law, Katherine Johnston and her husband Jack.

There will be a 6:00 pm Memorial Service Friday, July 13, 2012 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1448 E. US Hwy 64, Lexington, NC 27292 with Pastor Wayne Knight officiating; visitation will follow. A 1:00 pm Committal will be held Saturday, July 14th at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Thomasville Funeral Home is assisting the family.
