

Joseph was born April 28, 1946 in Macon County (Nantahala), NC to Joseph Benjamin and Zelma Nora May Morgan.
Many friends who knew and loved him called him “Poppy” or “Papaw”. He never met a stranger. Joseph had many “adopted” grandchildren. His life was helping other people and he loved working on cars and lawnmowers. He was ready to go home to his Lord and Savior. Joseph was sick most of his adult life, becoming disabled at a young age with Wilson’s disease. He married Linda Carol Tomlin in 1967. He had a stepfather whom he loved like a father. His family was his life and always put them first.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Jimmy Carroll Morgan and sister, Wilma Jean Grant.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Linda Tomlin Morgan; son, Daniel Keith Morgan of Thomasville; mother, Zelma Davis and stepfather Bob Davis of High Point; grandchildren, Josh, Kit, Ali and Alex of Thomasville; brother, Charles David Morgan and wife Shelia of Nantahala; sisters, Josephine Mason and husband Ray of Archdale, Doralee Wishon and husband Max of Jamestown; stepbrother, Fred Davis; brother-in-laws, Clarence Tomlin and wife Debbie of Thomasville, James Tomlin and wife Ruth of High Point; sister-in-law, Joyce Tomlin of High Point; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Thomasville Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 3rd in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Hoyt Mason officiating; a committal will follow at Union Hill Church Cemetery at Camp Branch in Nantahala, NC with Max Wishon officiating; at other times, the family will be at 332 Chase Rd. Thomasville, NC.
