Dear Marsha and family, I just learned today of Joe's passing, and my heart hurts for all of you.  Joe was simply the best, and I know his loss is devastating.  I pray God will comfort you and your family during this time of grief. I know (from experience)that the loneliness can be overwhelming at times - Marsha, if you ever need someone to talk to, or cry to, please call me.  I've been there and I know you are trying to be strong for your family, but sometimes we all just need a shoulder to cry on.

Dear Morris Family & Friends, 
I met Joe in the early 80's through my Cousin, Barbara Nolan. We hit it off right away. There was a strange instant connection. After talking for a while, we came to realize that we were born on the same date ( I was 1 year later), we shared many similarities. We liked a lot of the same music, going to concerts, we both had a young child we adored, and so much more. I knew that I could get him going, if I reminded him that my first concert was the Allman Brothers "Live at the Filmore", in 1971. Please know that even though it has been many years, I can still feel the warmth of his friendship and the hear the joy in his laughter. After hearing of his passing, I thought of the lyrics to a Greatful Dead tune, "Brokedown Palace" and have played it a number of times since. I think he would appreciate the wishes expressed in the words. If you can find the lyrics, you may think so also. Take Care. Love, Bill McDonough

I am both shocked and saddened to learn of Joe's passing.  He was such a great friend and was always fun to be around.  I enjoyed hearing him play music as often as I could.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of us who were lucky enough to know him.

I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I am heart-broken for you all. I first met Joe when I was just a little girl of about 13, about 30 years ago. He and some of his friends from North Carolina came to stay with my family in New York. We forged a friendship then and remained close through the years. I hadn't spoken to Joe since my college days during the late 80's. I have such fond memories of him, my family adored him. He was a great guy, and someone I looked up to. We had many, many laughs, Joe was a character and so much fun to be around.  He was also a good friend, and someone I could always turn to for advice as I was growing up. I loved Joe, at one point in my life I considered him to be like a brother. He was so proud of his family, he loved you all so much. Josh, the last time I saw you, you were just a little guy. Your dad loved you so much. I will never forget Joe Morris, God bless his soul. May he eternally rest in peace, and my sincere condolences go out to the entire Morris family.

I hope you remember me, my name is Barbara. I am a very old friend of Joe's from New York. I cannot begin to tell you how saddened my family and I were to hear of Joe's passing. We were all very fond of Joe and he will always hold a special place in my heart. I will always cherish the memories I had with Joe.Josh, I don't know if you remember all the trips to my parents house in New York, you might have been too young.
