Judy Anne Bowers Miller

Mrs. Judy Anne Bowers Miller, 72, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.

A resident of this area all of her life, Judy was born on November 24, 1942 in Davidson County to the late Rosa Lee Trotter and Walter Clyde Bowers. She had worked for over 40 years as Payroll Manager for Thomasville City Schools Administration. Judy was a birth rite member of Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church where she had served as Superintendent of the Children’s Sunday School Ministry. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Bowers.

Surviving are her husband, Benny Lawrence Miller of the home; daughters, Heather Houchins and her husband Brad of Thomasville and Tammy Miller of Florida; grandchildren, Adrianna Barnes and Hayden Houchins; sister, Margaret Beck and her husband Charlie of Thomasville; brother, Jimmy Bowers of Thomasville; and sister-in-law, Linda Bowers of Thomasville.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 11 am Tuesday at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church with Dr. E. Keith Carroll, Senior Pastor and Pastor Carroll Upton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday at Thomasville Funeral Home.
