Lillie "Judy" Bradshaw, 81, gained her heavenly wings on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Mt. Vista Health Park.
Judy was born in Sampson County, November 27, 1941, a daughter of the late J. E. Simmons and Eunice Nance Simmons. She was a retired seamstress, having worked at area furniture companies. Judy loved to dance, joke and make people laugh and she adored her poodle, Tiny. Her world was her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Corbin Simmons, Donald Simmons and Ray Simmons and two sisters, Alma Fields and Rose Bryant.
Surviving are her companion of 38 years, Vann Gordon; two daughters, Phillus Boileau (Duke) and Sylvia Grice (Jerry); four grandchildren, Melissa Clark (Joey), Terry Bowman, Heather Vernon(Michael) and Kevin Foster; eleven great-grandchildren, Cameron, Hannah, Hayden, Cali, Kara, Sydney, Rylie, Chance, Michael, Bryan and Kinslee; three sisters, Mary Fann, Faye Ezzell and Kay Austin; a brother, James Simmons and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Judy's life will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Daniel Byrd. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m. Pallbearers will be Terry Bowman, Kevin Foster, Michael Vernon, William Hess, Jerry Bowman and Teryl Beasley.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mt. Vista for their loving care of Judy. A special thank you to Misti Clark for the home health care she provided. The family would also like to thank Penny Gum for your special care at Mt. Vista, where you went above and beyond caring for your Aunt Judy.
