A resident of this area all of her life, Lindy was born on August 16, 1952 in Davidson County, NC to the late Ernest and Bertha Sheffield Pope. She had work in textiles for many years and enjoyed fishing, cooking, flowers, and going to the beach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by children, Albert Benjamin King, Jr., and Linda Diane King and a brother, Harvey Pope.
Surviving are her husband, Terry Lewis of the home; siblings, E.J. Pope, Beulah Pope, Amstuz Pope, Lorraine Hicks, Barbara Johnson, Betty Davis, and Sarah Nealy.
A celebration of Lindy’s life will be held at 11 am Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Heath Church in Lexington.
