I remember sitting with Marie at that round table at the restaurant. She would tell me about her life and how she got to where she was. I was just a teenager then but I admired her she was a sweet lady. She was there when I had my daughter holding my hand in the delivery room. Her and my momma looked so much alike everyone though they were sisters. Those days working at Marie’s we’re truly times I cherish. She will be greatly missed by everyone.

When I first met Marie, she had just started dating my brother Donald. They invited us to go to dinner at Sagebrush in Clemmons, NC. So we did and while there Marie had to use the restroom, so she and I went to the restroom, while in there the stall had locked on Marie and she started to get scared but she finally had to crawl under the door to get out. We told Don and my husband when we got back to the table and we all had a big laugh. She said what a way to make an impression.
