He was born June 23, 1931 in Brussels, Belgium. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War where he earned his U. S. Citizenship.
“Nono” loved music of all kinds, old movies, and French cooking. He was a member of Rich Fork Baptist Church in Thomasville, N.C. and attended Emanuel Lutheran Adult Day Care in High Point, N.C. Formerly a resident of Florida; he was a charter member of the St. Lucie Chapter of the Aluminum Association of Florida where he was an active participant and aluminum construction instructor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andre and Teresa Boren; a brother, Joe Boren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Virginia “Lou” Boren; two sons, Richard “Ric” Boren and wife Susan, Todd Boren; a stepson, Jerry “Chip” Blackwell; a step-daughter, Glenda Jones and husband Mike; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Boren, Lindsey Boren, Coco Boren, Jamie Boren, MacArthur Boren, Jennifer Delorco, Sean Jones, Daniel Jones, David Jones, Alexis Blackwell; one sister, Simone Dunn and husband Seymour; nephews and nieces, Marc and Caryn Dunn, Stephen and Michele Baker, Joshua and Beth Dunn, Gabrielle, Cheyenne, and Andre Dunn; many more sisters and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Rich Fork Baptist Church in Thomasville, N.C. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11:00 am with Pastor Michael Bowers officiating. A private Committal was held at the National Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C. with full Military Honors. Thomasville Funeral Home is assisting the family.
