

Mr. Oral Aicher “O.J.” Jarrett, 59, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side.
A resident of this area all of his life O.J. was born on June 1, 1954 in Lexington, NC to Carson Floyd and Zeola Coppley Jarrett. He was a graduate of Central Davidson High School and of the Baptist Faith. O.J. enjoyed watching television, especially Nascar, and spending time with his family. He was the loving husband of Terri Smith Jarrett. He had been a truck driver for many years and had worked at Styline Logisitics in High Point and previously MGM Transport. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Rodney Jarrett.
Surviving is his wife, Terri Smith Jarrett of the home; daughter, Tonya Akines and her husband Mark of Lexington; son, Randy Jarrett of Lexington; grandchildren, Hannah and Josh Akines. Also surviving are his brothers, Mitchell Jarrett and his wife Debbie of Lexington and Tony Jarrett and his wife Joyce of Thomasville; and his sister-in-law, Lisa Jarrett of Lexington.
A celebration of O.J.’s life will be held at 2pm Wednesday, April 16th at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Workman and Rev. John Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Community Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday, April 15th at Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street.
