Patricia Spears Herring

Patricia Spears Herring, 73, passed away June 6, 2026. Born August 5, 1952, in Lenoir City, TN, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Thelma Yates Spears. She was a resident of Thomasville, North Carolina most of her life.

Trish married Bo Herring, and together they raised two children, Joy Goins and John Pressley. She cherished time with those she loved and especially enjoyed family gatherings, where her warmth and steady presence could be felt in every shared moment.

Those who knew Trish will remember a woman who met life with resilience and courage, marked by a spirit all her own. Her faith remained an anchor through the years, and her humor—often candid, always memorable—brought lightness and laughter to the lives around her. Outspoken and honest, independent and free-spirited, she lived “wide open,” leaving an imprint that will not be forgotten.

Before Bo’s death, Trish and Bo attended Berean Baptist Church of Winston Salem, NC.

Preceding Trish in death are her parents; her husband, Bo; her son, John Pressley; two grandsons, Cody and Skylar; two brothers, Ronnie and Eddie Spears; and one sister, Shannon Smith.

Surviving are her daughter, Joy Goins; three grandchildren, Haley, Cadence and Anna; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and David Spears; and two sisters, Regina Brock and Brenda Spears.

A Graveside Service for Patricia will be held Thursday June 18, 2026, at 11a.m. at Holly Hill Cemetery of Thomasville, NC.
