I found this quite by accident. I think i worked with Pat at Total Care in thomasville years ago. She was an amazing person. I was a new employee without a reliable vehicle. She loaned me $1000 to put a down payment on a car so i could work. She never expected the money in return. I was gratefully and happily able to repay her several years later. I can attest to her giving personality. I am sorry for your loss

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

  I worked with Pat at Arcadia Heath Care, and throughout that time she was loving, and caring, always put others ahead of herself. She had the most delightful sense of humor, and no matter how bad you felt..she coule make you laugh. I remember when my husband passed, suddenly, in 2007....she was so sweet and loving to me, and willing to be there in any way she could. I don't know you all..but believe me anyone who knew Pat, knew you all. My prayers are with you all....

I read a message in Our Daily Bread while sitting under a hair dryer thinking of Pat and lying in Baptist Hospital in ICU: 
Psalm 55:6.  “Oh that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. But God gives us strength to face our problems, not to flee from them. Pat faced her problems and was not one to flee from them.
When there was sunshine Pat would smile and when it rained, if your comment was a sad “oh it’s raining,” she would smile with a cheer up attitude, and tell you  rainy days are “liquid sunshine.”
She inspired others, making a negative attitude into a comic attitude with a positive outlook.
A whiff of stress turned into contagious laughter.
Often, it would end up being the most comical sayings to fit any situation. It’s how we made it through a long work day.
(We went to see a movie at the Tinsletown Theatre in Salisbury)
The movie “2008”; “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” was about a man who aged backward. (A rollercoaster of emotions)  The audience sat still, emotionless, there was a scene that was actually funny, but the audience was still quiet. Pat broke the ice, changed the attitude of the audience for the rest of the movie.  So you see, it’s O: K to laugh., lighten up.

Co-workers would tell you that Pat’s answer to challenging (difficult) people always began with “You tell em” ……this or that.  She had her on little way of getting things across to people when she felt a point needed to be made.

In the afternoon, when we begin to get tired and sleepy, you could hear the sound of Pat popping the top from a can of diet mountain dew, which she always mixed with a little water. She always made it sound so refreshing when she popped the top, which would shake that sleepy feeling you felt.

Pat was a lover, she loved her church, she loved her family, my God the time she put in taking care of her Mother and Father, we were very proud of her and told her so. She loved her children and adored the grandchildren; she loved her friends, the job and the co-workers who became a second family.  The camaraderie relationship our team has held has been outstanding, we were truly like sisters, who could agree to disagree and keep working with fun. We came to each other’s aide throughout the day to complete assignments. We shared stories daily about family and friends and the latest in the news.  To the point that when we met family members and friends they were not strangers because, you knew something of them through descriptions we all gave telling family stories, funny, sad or indifferent.

Sharing was a big thing among us. We were always surprising one another with something we would have left on the desk like a piece of candy, cookies, pistachios, bottled water or a soda. You could count on our team helping one another get through a workday. We would even shop for one another for small items like shoes, clothing articles, eyewear. If you needed a pair of reading glasses, we could count on Pat, she kept at least three pair at all times at her desk. Any information that came out on outlook that was work related, Pat   was exceptionally good at getting us a hard copy of something she felt we needed to have in hand to refer back to. Because she lived in Thomasville, we would share community resources and get her to places she could take her car to for oil changes and inspections. We traded books, and sent each other e-mails. I remember the first time she went on vacation to Australia, I got an e-mail, it was nice to know, that even while on vacation, she still thought of her co-workers, always kept in touch. As co-workers, we really were her extended family.

On Friday morning, when Smokie and Trish  called and gave us the news of Pat’s passing, we were in tears at work, quiet, time stood still, and Temeka Toney a Social Worker said, you know Pat’s up there looking at us with a big smile and talking about how peaceful it is and looking down at us going working and juggling bits here and there. “You can have it. We all fell out of that silence with laughter. It truly broke us up and there was no more sadness. We could truly see that vision.

Pat was a nurse, a veteran nurse in that she worked to provide healthcare that improved the health and well-being of others. Today we come to salute Pat.

We dressed her cubicle in flowers and butterfly symbols of love. Three favorite words live, love and laugh; for Pat, the love for her God, church, family, friends, and doing for others made living all worthwhile.
She taught us to accept challenges as a journey to peace. The spirit of our friend will be with us always. We regret we didn’t give her enough hugs and that we can’t hug her now, so we shed tears of love in the midnight hour, tears of love in the morning, and throughout the day.  But know that there are smiles that shadow those tears of love. We come today to honor Pat and to let you know our love for our dear friend, for today we say a prayer, May God keep loving arms around you, and allow us to leave here with  the fabulous moments WE ALL will keep.

The Staff of Gentiva Home Health Intake Department wishes to express their deepest sympathy to Pat's family and friends for the loss of a lovely lady. We worked with Pat every day and always enjoyed our interactions with her; she was a happy lady wiht a great zest for life. She will be sorely missed.

Smokey, Brian, and Tricia:  Fran and I are very sorry about the loss of Pat.  You folks are all special people and your Mom/Wife was certainly an awfully important reason for that.  It is wonderful to feel that her legacy lives on through your lives Brian & Tricia.  Fran & I are very sorry we weren't in town to attend the visitation or funeral but please know that we care and that you all are in our prayers. Pat was a remakable woman as a friend and as a professional co-worker at Total Care Home Health Care and Persosnal Care Services.  She loved and cared for you her family tremendously especially the grandchildren.  Pat's smile,her upbeat personalitiy and friendship will be very much missed.   Marlene Durr

My heart goes out to you during this time. Pat was always going the extra mile to "teach" each client. She would look beyond the problem and touch souls, reflecting the Savior's love. Her deep faith looked to God as the source of healing hearts and lives. Pat and Smokey have been true friends who are sensible, kind and loving.  I will miss Pat very much.   Love Ya

Pat was an amazing person and I will always remember what a great friend she was and how she was there when I lost my mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you Tricia, Brian and Smokey and the rest of the family.

Dear Lord, 
As You welcome our friend, our mother, our wife, as You welcome this soul who means so much to those she has left behind, let us feel Your glory as well!  
For what will ease our hearts more than to know she has been welcomed into Your arms, to bask in Your warmth and love eternal.  
Death seems so complete when she is no longer with us in body, when we can no longer speak to her and laugh with her or hold her hand.
Yet her presence is felt in the love she left behind, in the strength she shared and in the courage she showed in her last days with us.  We wish not to be greedy and keep her from You, but only to share in the joy of her rising to those heights we all hope to attain one day.  We know You will allow a reunion of our souls when we, too, are welcomed into Your presence.  But for now we are mere mortals who are feeling the pain of loss of a special and unique person.  
As mere mortals, we love.  But there are those who shine even in that most fervent of emotions, and our friend, mother and wife was one of those.  She brought sunshine to our lives in a serious, sometimes funny and often times nutty way that was unique to her.  There was no denying her presence in any room.  
So though she is not here in physical form, we can all feel her presence in the joy of living that she embraced so readily and easily.  Many never experience that degree of loving and living in much longer lifetimes.  Perhaps that is why she was taken from us in what seems, to us, such an untimely manner.  But God has His plan, and He wanted her home.

I'm  sad.
My wonderful friend isn't with me today.
Truly,  I feel like the aching will last always… and days.

Her presence is always a blessing to me.
Her voice mail messages are hilarious not one of the many was understood as being serious.

God when you meet her please greet her with a welcoming hug.

Before I finish, I know my last demand will take a miracle.  
Please remove her ever ready never stop-working shoes.

Yes I'm thankful her exist was a blaze of heavenly glory.
So, cheer up my broken heart I get to share a good news story.
Now  I can rejoice about what great things Pat gets to do in Glory. 
And being my true friend,  I'm sure I'll be getting my first e-mail sent to me from Glory signed Pat Stover, like the candy but without all the money.
Lord, I'll never forget my friend-God's Perfect Rose.

Pat....what a beautiful soul.  I will miss her smile that could brighten the room and her laugh that could make anyone smile.  She shared a Christ-like love that touched those she knew.  I'll miss her enveloping hugs that made you know everything would be all right.  From a touched co-worker....

I only met Pat this last March. Indeed, she was a beautiful soul. I feel as though I have learned more about her since her sickness, than before she became ill. She will be truly missed by our work group. She made us all laugh, smile, and enjoy the love we share.

Pat's zest for life was contagious.  Her smile made you smile.  She was a wonderful family member that you always enjoyed being with and enjoyed receiving and giving "the hug" and yes she was the sister you always wanted in your life.  For all the many years of joy you gave us, we thank you, dear Pat.

 I am thankful to have had Pat as a friend. She was such extraordinary person who left happy footprint across our heart.  As the photo illustrates, her smile was always there to greet us.  Our heartfelt condolences go out to Pat and her entire family.  She will be missed immensely.

My thoughts are with you and your family, Tricia. While I never met your mother, she must have been a wonderful gal to have raised a woman like you.

I loved this woman, she was the sister I never had. She was kind, generous, funny, thoughtful, as well as beautiful. I will miss her every day for the rest of my life. The world won't be the same without her in it. Knowing her was the best part of the last 44 years since we first met in nurses training.
