

Mr. Phillip Way Brim, age 52 of Winston-Salem, NC. He finished his final race on this earth on Sunday morning, January 6, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Phillip was a faithful member of Clark's Creek Progressive Primitive Baptist Church. In his earlier years, he served as President of the Junior Choir. He also volunteered to serve as Recreational Director of Clark's Creek Church for three years, and was a dedicated member of the Trustee Board. He was a honor graduate of Patrick County High School, Stuart, Virginia and a graduate from Surry Community College with an Associate Degree. Phillip also attended Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. He continued his education at Winston-Salem State University where he received his BS Degree in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry. He graduated Magna Cum Lauda. His career began at Thomasville Medical Center where he worked in a Laboratory for twenty-eight years and retired as Administrative Director in 2005. He also worked part-time at Dr. J. R. Jones Medical Center in King, NC for nineteen years. Phillip was a competitive runner, participating in several levels of competition over the past twenty-five years. He also followed Thomasville High School football and basketball and loved attending the games over the years.He was born to the late Chester Gordon Brim and Sarah Alice Green Brim in Patrick County, VA on August 18, 1955. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Brim of the home. He is also survived by one son, Christopher Phillip Brim of Greensboro, NC; three step-children, Laura (Adam) Sidun of San Diego, CA, Frederick (Lisa) Johnson of Erie, PA and Adrienne (Lou) Adkins of Winston-Salem; five sisters, Rachel (Martin F.) Clark of Stuart, VA, Inest (Warner) Dodson of Ararat, VA, Linda (Rex) Carter of Pilot Mountain, NC, Brenda (MSG, Charles) Young of Fayetteville, NC and Margie Hickman of Boston, GA; four brothers, Ancion Brim, Lee Brim, Edward (Mary Ann) Brim and Ricky Brim, all of Ararat, Virginia; four aunts, Doris Brim and Maggie Brim, both of Ararat, Virginia, Ethel Green and Alma Brim, both of Mount Airy, NC; two uncles, Glen (Opal) Brim and Fred (Alice) Brim, both of Ararat, Virginia; four sisters-in-law, Mary (Joe) Ploszkiewicz of Lake City, PA, Rose (Charles) Cox of Erie, PA, Nancy (Phillip) Rea of Northwest, PA and Anita Briska of Erie, PA; with a host of other relatives and friends.
