Reva Irene Southard Stephens

Irene was born October 22, 1930 in Richmond, Va. to the late Melvin and Maddie Southard.She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent several years living at Sunset Beach where she enjoyed hunting for sea shells and fishing. She enjoyed fishing in ponds and lakes as well. Irene had a great love for music and dancing. The dancing is something she looked very forward to during her stay at the Nursing Home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stephens; a son, Terry Stephens; grandson, Kevin Garner; great-grandson, Kevin Garner; parents; sisters, Josephine Allred and Bobbie Freeman.

Irene is survived by her son, James Stephens and wife Lynda; daughter, Linda Buckland and husband Michael; sister, Hazel Payton; grandchildren; Jamie Miller, Stephanie Stewart, Candi Causey, Robin Williams, Kirby Wayne Garner, Linda Marie Schoppers, Sarah Jones; great-grandchildren; Amanda Grainger, Chaz Brown, Drew Causey, Luke Causey, Sabrina Johnson, Robert Johnson, Jennifer Saunders, Allen Saunders, Erica Schoppers, Amber Schoppers, Derek Garner, Caleb Williams, Alexia Williams; great-great grandchildren; Bradley Schoppers, Eligha Sanders, Devin Garner, Chase Jones, Kimberly Brooke Simmons.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 6:00 ~ 8:00 P.M. at Thomasville Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday, March 12, 2010 at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Carl Sutton officiating followed by interment at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
