

Mrs. Thomas was born on July 17, 1941 in Plymouth, NC to the late Levi and Queenie Cooper Johnson. She attended NC Central University and later moved to New York, where she worked for the NYPD for many years as a police administrative aid. Mrs. Thomas will be remembered for her kind sense of humor and as a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bright Thomas.
Surviving are her children, Bryant Thomas and his wife Nancy of Thomasville, Paul Smith of New York, and Audris Hamilton of Tucker, GA; grandchildren, Randy McKenzie, Kauron Thomas, Shaquanna Thomas, Bryant Thomas III, and Serina Smith; and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Emma Johnson, Dr. Brent Johnson, and Rev. Dr. Ben Devoid of Memorial United Methodist Church for their gifts of love in memory of Mrs. Thomas.
