

Ron grew up in Fortville, then later graduated from Anderson High School. He never forgot how much he loved Fortville and returned to live there for over 60 years. He moved to Thomasville, North Carolina, with his wife Judy and his beloved two cats almost one year ago.
Ron served on just about every board or committee that supported Fortville, including the Mt. Vernon School Board, the Town of Fortville Board, and was a founder of Uncle Merle Wise Day, the Fortville Police Department Reserve Officer, Parks Board, Hancock County Zoning Committee, and numerous other committees, including local Fortville Festivals and Parades. He was a dedicated public servant to Fortville for many years and in many capacities. He was a co-owner of the Squash Blossom Boutique, as well as Jacque’s Beauty Shop.
Ron loved antique cars, toy trains, collecting coins, playing tennis, fixing up houses, and getting into mischief.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Cary Stafford; his mother, Vivian Bernice Clark Berry; and grandchildren, Gabrielle Andis and Rebekah Andis.
Ron is survived by his wife, Judy Hughes Stafford; daughter, Stacia Stafford Watts (Randy); son, Rian Stafford (Lisa); bonus children, Keith Beasley (Patricia), David Beasley, Tina Evans (Jeremy); grandchildren, Draven Stafford, Trevison Stafford, Laura Andis, Benjamin Andis, Jordan Beasley Lunsford, Jacob Beasley, Samuel Evans, Jackson Evans, Emily Beasley; and sister, Judy Berry Campbell (Bruce).
A memorial service for Ronald will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville, North Carolina 27360.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in Fortville, IN, Ron’s hometown, on Saturday May 17, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Fortville American Legion Post 391, 207 S Merrill St, Fortville, Indiana 46040.
