Samuel Edward Teleshuk, born on February 15, 1946, in Thomasville, North Carolina, passed away on December 15, 2025, at the age of 79. Known affectionately as Sam, he was a beloved figure in his community and family, remembered for his adventurous, kind-hearted, and loyal nature.
Sam dedicated 29 years of his life to serving in the Navy, where he retired with distinction as a Master Chief. His military career took him around the world twice, a testament to his resilient and brave spirit.
A devoted family man, Sam took immense pride in his son Scott's accomplishments, particularly his role within the FBI and the many places Scott has traveled. Sam's love for his family extended to his grandchildren, Carter, Grant, Kerri, and Alex, to whom he was a special grandfather, and his great-nephew Jameson.
In his personal life, Sam was known for his love of the Lord and his active involvement in the church. He enjoyed golfing, reloading ammo, fixing personal computers, and cherished the simple pleasure of sitting on the porch, smoking a cigar, and listening to music. Sam's humor and generosity were well-known, and his selfless and wise nature left a lasting impact on those around him.
Sam was deeply involved in his community, serving on the Board of the Fairgrove Resource Center of Thomasville, NC, volunteering for Meals on Wheels of Davidson County, and participating in various charity events. His thoughtful and faithful contributions to the community will be fondly remembered.
Preceding Sam in death were his parents, Samuel Teleshuk and Dorothy Jones Teleshuk, and his brother Mike. He is survived by his son, Scott, his sisters, Dawn (Brent) Garvin and Sandy (Eddy) Dominguez, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Sam's Life will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Johnsontown United Methodist Church of Thomasville, officiated by Pastor Sid Lanier. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Johnsontown United Methodist Church Cemetery.
